John Whitaker MBE (born 5 August 1955)[1] is a British equestrian and former Olympian. Horses he has partnered include Ryan's Son, Milton and Gammon in the sport of show jumping. Milton is arguably the horse Whitaker is the most famous for riding; having competed him successfully several times at Olympic levels.
He has three children — Joanne, Louise and Robert. Robert Whitaker has successfully show jumped at the highest levels. John's niece Ellen Whitaker, nephew William Whitaker and younger brother Michael Whitaker are also show jumpers.
